9 Star Ki is a Japanese system of divination. It allows us to navigate the flow of life the way we might navigate a river. Aware of approaching turbulence. Alert to landmarks, obstacles, and calm water.
Traditionally communicated through word of mouth, it has remained obscure and hard to access. With my video seminar, Between Heaven and Earth, I hope to change that.

HISTORY OF 9 STAR KI
Approximately 5,000 years ago, the legendary first emperor of China, Fu Hsi, is said to have been inspired by the markings on the shell of a turtle, to create a series of groupings of horizontal lines.

Michael Becherer
Michael’s commitment to serving the evolution of humanity shines brightly in his work as a 9 Star Ki practitioner. He was born in 1950 in Indiana later to become a young revolutionary in the 1960’s and early 70’s. During this time he was clear the status quo was not the path he desired and instead opted to go a different direction where he could connect more deeply to life. After completing college, Michael trained as a mountain guide where he could immerse himself fully in nature and became one of the founding instructors of the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS).
In 1978, he was drawn to Boston where he studied macrobiotics and 9 Star Ki with the famed Michio Kushi of Japan. These teachings dramatically shifted his paradigm, guiding him towards a holistic approach to life. In the mid 80’s he moved to Alaska and helped found and build the macrobiotic community Ionia, all while raising 7 children and several grandchildren. In 2010, he moved to Austin, where he currently resides. He enjoys spending time at Barton Springs, connecting with his children and 16 grandchildren, rock climbing, cooking, and tending his garden. He offers workshops, private sessions, and couples work, teaching his students to better utilize the guiding principles of 9 Star Ki in everyday life.
