Silent Service

If you want to know how to silence the mind,
fix its gaze upon the all-encompassing truth of the moment.

Even the most fleeting glimpse
of this boundless vision of divinity
will force the mind to bow in humble reverence
to the majesty of this infinite wisdom.

Overpowered by purity and simplicity,
and the immeasurable abundance of Love.

Transfixed and forever transformed.

Overwhelmed by the enormity of truth,
the mind falls blissfully into servitude.

With joy and unrelenting adoration,
it will welcome the saddle unto its back.
It will toss the bridal over its own head
and place the bit in its mouth.

It will relinquish control in silent, awestruck surrender,
and plead for this imponderable wisdom to take the reins.

The Invitation:

This series of online community gatherings is about the personal ascent of your life, learning to let go, and travel light, in order to arrive gracefully at the summit. It is a source of support, encouragement, and guidance from the ancient traditions of the world, to rise from a place of fear and resistance to an elevated way of being in the world. This series will offer guidelines for letting go of the heavy burdens we all carry unnecessarily as humans, as well as a list of the essential tools we need to bring to thrive on the path of life.

This online series is designed for the time we are living in. Where, whether we like it or not, we are on a challenging route up a powerful mountain. The experience of climbing an epic mountain peak will almost always break down every bit of a person’s resolve before the summit is reached. It requires tremendous strength, skill, focus, and energy. But, if you succeed, the majestic views atop the highest peaks are a perfect parallel to the liberation you feel for having moved yourself through a thousand resistant voices to get there. And high atop this elevated vista, it is abundantly clear, the voices of resistance you encountered on your journey up, are no different than the voices you hear in everyday life when challenging situations arise in the town below.

This is why the mountains are so meaningful to the shamanic traditions of Peru, and indeed the world over. An interaction with a mountain is a conversation with one of the greatest living teachers and guides on the spiritual path. They remind you that everything you are carrying or holding on the inside must eventually be released if you want to reach the summit. In other words, you must learn to embrace the process of surrender and release of everything you cling to, in order to truly hear what the great mountains have to say.

Join Mateo Magee, author of Peruvian Shamanism: The Pachakuti Mesa for a Six-Part Series on communing with the wisdom of the mountains within the living landscapes of our lives.

Note: Mateo will do his best to keep each of the six sessions as independent functioning, stand-alone offerings. That said, for those of you desiring depth, these sessions will also simultaneously flow together as a continuum, and each session will build on the one that preceded it to encourage the presentation of a larger vision. With that in mind, I strongly encourage participants to attend as many of the six session as possible if you are interested in getting a feel for the larger vision being offered. However, I wanted this series to be accessible to everyone, and for that reason I have done my best to accommodate drop-ins without requiring previous sessions to be viewed.
